Deborah Salazar Shapiro, MSW, has been inspired by children and families throughout her life. This passion has touched every facet of her career as a psychotherapist, mindfulness teacher, author, and artist. Now she has weaved experiences from her childhood growing up in El Salvador into her first book, The Magical Mindful Day.
A dedicated practitioner of mindfulness meditation for a decade, Deborah is currently an instructor of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and of the Compassion Cultivation Training© (CCT). She is also a trained Mindfulness Facilitator, having studied at the University of California Los Angeles’s Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, a partner of the UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center.
