So happy you've arrived! I'm Deborah Salazar Shapiro, MSW, founder of The Compassion Room. I'm a trained psychotherapist, accredited mindfulness meditation teacher, author, and artist based in San Diego, California—and just like you, I have my challenges in life.
Particularly as we dive deeper into the fast-paced, on-demand world of high-tech and artificial intelligence, many of us feel more disconnected than ever—and it's understandable considering that many relationships are stuck in a static social media state of posts, likes, and comments. It seems as if everyone is "out there" having so much fun. But are we?
A virtual space for camaraderie and compassion
Recognizing the repercussions of emerging technologies yet realizing the tremendous potential they offer, I am taking the best of the Digital Age to create The Compassion Room. A video- and audio-enabled group gathering, it is a virtual space for sharing, connecting, and exploring new ways to respond to life challenges together—face to face.
I have discovered through my years of training and personal experiences that compassion is one of the most powerful healing and transformational tools we can develop in our lives, but it's often the very thing missing from our physical and virtual relationships. (Emojis just don't cut it!)
Save your seat!
If you are ready to share, be heard, and offer others support and understanding, simply register for the video gathering by including your name and email address in the form below. You'll receive a welcome email. Although it's always nice to know who's coming ahead of time, you can certainly stop by unannounced!
